Andreas Bengtsson
Andreas is enthusiastic skiers and climbers and something of a database of ski resorts and skiing. He has skied over 300 ski resorts and guided many Haute Route tours worldwide, including 30 ski resorts in Japan. As avid climber since the late 80s, he has made several "Big Walls" like the 1000 meters high and vertical Kjerag and Troll Wall in Norway and El Capitan (United States). Andreas has founded Mountain Guide Travel but is also certified Mountain Guide by UIAGM / IFMGA.
With their strong interest in rock climbing and educating others Andreas is a qualified climbing instructor since 1994 and has also worked with the training and assessment of instructors. Altogether Andreas climbed over 200 alpine climbs, most of them as a mountain guide and has guided the guests on more than half of the total of 60 peaks over 4000m in the Alps.
Winters he spends with working as a guide to off-piste skiing and has been one of the guides on Skiers Lodge in La Grave since 2002.
Through the years, he has visited over 300 ski resorts in 11 different countries like Iran, Japan, Chile, Canada and across Europe. This built up a vast knowledge of the mountains of the Alps and how to go about finding the best powder snow. The last 10 winters he has worked a lot with the "Best skiing at the moment" where he will meet guests at the airport in Geneva or Zurich and take them to the ski resort where the snow is best at the current week.
Andreas is also a passionate photographer and rarely think that a DSLR is too heavy. See examples of some of the images in the image gallery or on our Facebook page. His photographs have also been published in several magazines (Conde Nast Traveler and GQ) and advertising.
